NOMINATIONS FOR THIS YEAR’S AWARDS HAVE NOW CLOSED – WINNERS WILL BE CONTACTED SHORTLY.
Every year, Devon County Council hosts an award ceremony to honour the exceptional performance of Community Transport staff and volunteers who deliver essential transport services to the residents of Devon.
Why host an Awards Ceremony?
Hundreds of people across Devon are involved in the operation of community transport services and each of them plays an important part in making the services run. Part of the challenge of running services day to day is raising awareness of what Community Transport does and reminding people of the importance of these community services. The awards help to raise awareness amongst the local community and potential funders and sponsors.
An award ceremony allows us to say thank you and highlight a special few individuals each year. Being able to tell stories about how individuals can get involved in community transport sends a powerful message. The publicity this brings with it from local media reporting helps to raise the profile of community transport and may attract a new volunteer or two.
This year you can make nominations in the following categories – more information can be found in our “Call for Entries” brochure.
- Volunteer Drivers – both minibus and car drivers
- Volunteer Community Transport Enabler – e.g. Administrator, Committee Member, Fundraiser,
- Employee of the Year
Thank you to our Sponsors
This year, the awards are kindly sponsored by local printers, Pollards. In addition, local coachbuilders, GM Coachwork, have sponsored the prizes for the awards. We are very grateful for their support and input to this special event.
