Starting from Saturday 30th May, several summer only bus services will re-commence, including a new Sunday link in North Devon. Further details and timetables can be found below.
31 Ilfracombe – Mortehoe – Woolacombe The Sunday service starts on Sunday 31st May and will operate until 31st October. The Monday – Saturday and Sunday services are now operated by Taw & Torridge.
157 Exmouth – Budleigh Salterton – Sidmouth The Sunday service returns on Sunday 31st May and will operate until 31st October.
271 Newton Abbot – Bovey Tracey – Haytor – Widecombe The Haytor Hoppa, starts on Saturday 30th May. So a bigger bus can be used the service will only run to Haytor and Widecombe this year, with the number of journeys increased from four to six. It is operated by Stagecoach and will link with service 39 journeys between Newton Abbot and Bovey Tracey – the 39 from Newton Abbot to Bovey Tracey continues as a 271 to Widecombe, with through fares available. The 271 will operate every Saturday until the 30th October and also Monday – Friday from 26th July – 3rd September during summer school Holidays. English National Concessionary passes are valid on service 271, except before 0930 Monday – Friday.
300 Ilfracombe – Combe Martin – Lynton – Lynmouth A new Sunday service between Ilfracombe and Lynmouth starts on Sunday 31st May, with up to four journeys. At Lynmouth some journeys offer connections with the Exmoor Coaster to Minehead, as well as a Sunday service for Combe Martin, Lynton and Lynmouth. The 300 will operate every Sunday until 31st October. There is also a Monday – Friday service from 26th July – 3rd September during summer school holidays. English National Concessionary passes are valid on service 300.
There are also several other new leisure services for this summer:
21C Barnstaple – Croyde Bay – In North Devon most 21C journeys will be operated with open top buses. There’s also an improved Sunday service, which will operate hourly until 31st October.
Exmoor Coaster – First have introduced the Exmoor Coaster between Lynmouth and Minehead with open top buses. It runs every day with six journeys each way.
95 Exmouth – Sandy Bay – At Exmouth the 95 to Sandy Bay has been improved and now runs half-hourly with open top buses on most journeys.
222 Dawlish Warren – Dawlish – Teignmouth – the 222 returns, running every day with open top buses.
Dartmoor Explorer – First have introduced the Dartmoor Explorer which runs from Exeter to Tavistock and Plymouth to Moretonhampstead, with one return journey every day. Double decks buses give the best views over Dartmoor.
