Join us for a celebration of cycling for all at Cycle Sunday!

This community event is open to all and will feature the following exciting cycling activities:

  • Man vs. Machine – World class professional mountain bike trails rider Andrei Burton will pit himself against world class free runner Pip Trix in a head to head battle to see who is best! Performances start at 11am, 1pm, 2:30pm and 3:30pm. 
  • Crazy Bike Cycle Circus – Have a go on crazy bikes, fun bikes, wacky bikes, clown bikes, unicycles, mini bikes, trick bikes, wobbly bikes, un-rideable bikes,reverse bikes, bob-along bikes, bronco bikes, skate bikes, penny-farthings and much more at the Crazy Bike Cycle Circus.
  • Dr Bike – Bring your bike along for a FREE cycle safety check up from Dr Bike. 
  • Cycle Security Tagging – Get your bike security tagged and registered on the national police Bike Register database for FREE.
  • Free Cycle Hire – Take a tour of Rock Park by bike by taking advantage of an hours free cycle hire.
  • Cycle Olympics – Try your hand, legs or both at the first Rock Park Cycle Olympics! Events include cycle races (fast and slow), cycle football and the not so Olympic egg and spoon race.
  • Go Ride Children’s Race – Join one of British Cycling’s Go Ride cycle races for under 16 novice cyclists – a safe and fun way to introduce young riders to the world of cycle sport. An entry fee of £3 applies. Regsiter on the day.
  • Bike Around Barnstaple Grand Arrival – Sustrans Active Travel schools compete in a guided cycle ride around Barnstaple to Rock Park to try and win a stunt display from Andrei Burton for their school! Pre-entry only.
  • Lorry Cab Blind Spots – Climb up instead the cab of a William Hockin lorry cab to experience the drivers blind spots and learn more about safe cycling. 

The event will also offer a range of arts and crafts-inspired activities delivered by local community groups:

  • Art Cycle – Cycle with your family around Rock Park and visit some exciting art stations.
  • Jiggy Wrigglers – Join in the musical activity with instruments, puppets and props. 
  • Forest School – Make wood-based activity decorations for a Rock Park tree.
  • Mrs Recycle – Meet Mrs Recycle and make arts and crafts from recycled materials.
  • Mosaic – Help the Children’s Summer Club to make a large tile mosaic.
