Devon County Council has recently been awarded funding through the Department for Transport “Tackling Loneliness with Transport” fund. DCC will be working with a series of partners to deliver a program of innovative transport schemes aimed to tackle loneliness. Partners include Devon Communities Together, Devon & Cornwall Rail Partnership, One Northern Devon and WestBank Community Health and Care.
The projects will specifically target young people aged 16-24 and the over 55’s who are most at risk of loneliness, including people living in rural areas, or those with a physical or mental health condition.
Closed “Connecting You” Community Grants Fund
The Connecting You Community Grants Fund has provided grants to projects and organisations to help connect people to activities that help tackle loneliness. This fund is now closed.
